For many people suffering from Candida yeast infection ?who have been strictly
advised to switch over to an anti Candida diet ?there is a genuine concern with
regard to the food options available when following the anti Candida diet.
Broadly, the concern usually is whether there are suitable Candida diet recipes
available or not.
Fortunately, the response to that query is a defiant
and emphatic YES!
In fact, there are options galore when it comes to
suitable recipes for those afflicted with Candida yeast infection. The guiding
light in this regard is the avoidance of all food items that contain yeast or
are otherwise a by-product of the fermentation process. Thus, foods such as
cheese, yogurt, alcohol as well as vinegar would be a complete no-no.
At
the same time, nearly all meat and vegetable items can easily be consumed
without any concern; they do not cause yeast to occur. Yet, processed meats such
as smoked, cured or pickled meats must be avoided. The same is the case with
most sugar items as well as other high carb items as they too are perfect
breeding grounds for yeast and thus need to be avoided as far as
possible.
If we are to divide proportions of different food items between
the above permissible objects that constitute well rounded Candida diet recipes,
we find that vegetables should ideally take center stage. You should follow with
carbohydrates in the lowest proportion. In fact, if possible, you can even do
away with the carbohydrates altogether and stick to meat and vegetables
alone.
An additional strategy that you can deploy while preparing
vegetables for a Candida recipe would be to steam them instead of cooking them
outright which ensures retention of valuable nutrients which are otherwise lost
in the cooking process. Also try to space out your meals; instead of going in
for two to three heavy meals in a day, prefer opting for four to five light
meals. This kind of a spread between meals ensures that blood sugar remains
optimal while also keeping hunger pangs under check!
Snacking between
meals is not particularly recommended, though a lot will depend on what exactly
you snack on. Carrot or celery sticks are pretty much acceptable, in fact
recommended, while certain nuts such as pistachios or peanuts are not. Similarly
while fruits such as green apples are ok to have, many others such as raisins,
grapes, dates and all citrus fruits are best avoided. Other food items on the
no-no list would include colas and other soft drinks, chocolate and honey as
well卐ventually though, as much as it may seem to you that sweetness has simply
been taken away from your life, you can be assured that a sweeter life, free of
Candida yeast infection, awaits you in the near term!
Keep in mind that
the above are just a few of the Candida diet Recipes that you can partake in.
